SEBASTIAN, Fla. — Margaret A. Black, 92, of Sebastian, Fla., and formerly of New Lisbon, N.Y., died Monday, Feb. 3, 2003, in Vero Beach, Fla.
She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on Oct. 24, 1910, the daughter of Oscar and Maria (Carlson) Anderson.
She married Robert G. Black Sr. on June 29, 1929, on Staten Island, N.Y. He died March 15, 1984.
She had shared her many skills and talents with many people as a 4-H Leader and in the Otsego County Home Bureau. She had been employed by the Morris Central School in the school cafeteria from 1970 until 1975.
She and her husband moved to Florida in 1975, and prior to that had lived in New Lisbon for over 31 years.
She was a past member of the Jewel Chapter of the Eastern Star and the Laurens Chapter of the Eastern Star and was a past matron. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Sebastian and had attended the United Methodist Church of Morris, N.Y.
She is survived by her children, Eleanor Gregory and her husband, Philip of Sebastian, Fla., and New Lisbon, N.Y., Robert G. Black Jr. and his wife, Jolene of Jonestown, Pa.; her grandchildren, Mark Gregory and wife, Debra of Herndon, Va., Terrill Gregory of Herkimer, N.Y., Andrea Gregory of North Pomfrit, Vt., Robert O. Black III and wife, Mary of Clinton, Iowa, Kathleen Dodd of Laurens, N.Y., Barbara Black of Tampa, Fla., Diane Black of Tucson, Ariz.; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
She was predeceased by a brother, Rudy Anderson.
Calling hours will be from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday at the Johnston Funeral Home in Morris, and funeral services will be on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2003, at 3 p.m. at the funeral home, with the. Rev. Ann Blair officiating.
Burial will be in Mount Vision Cemetery, Mount Vision, N.Y., at a later date.
A memorial service will be held in the First Presbyterian Church of Sebastian at a later date.
Friends are asked to make donations to the VNA Hospice House of Indian River County, 1111 36th St., Vero Beach, FL, 32960 or the Catskill Area Hospice of Oneonta, N.Y., 13820 in her memory.
Funeral arrangements are by the Johnston Funeral Home of Morris.
