NORWICH — Eloise G. Cevasco, 72, of Division Street, passed away peacefully on Monday, Feb. 10, 2003, at her home after an extended illness. Her loving family was at her bedside.
Born Aug. 28, 1930, in Gilbertsville, she was the daughter of Fred and Pearl (Rogers) Williams. She graduated from Gilbertsville High School.
On Sept. 15, 1951, she married Robert E. Cevasco, who survives. A native of the area, Eloise, in addition to raising her five children, worked after graduation at the former Imperial Tea Room in Norwich and then for General Laboratories, later Simmonds Precision, for over 28 years retiring in 1993.
For eight years following her retirement, Eloise traveled and worked with her husband. For the last several years she enjoyed her winters at their home in Sebring, Fla.
Eloise loved the outdoors and spent many summers camping at Leland Pond with her family and friends.
She also enjoyed playing shuffleboard and golf.
Eloise was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and of the Women of the Moose.
In addition to her loving husband, Robert, of Norwich; she is survived by four sons and their wives, Denny and Joanne Cevasco of Norwich, Randy and Marge Cevasco of Central Square, Ritchie and Debbie Cevasco of Sidney, and Robby and Jill Cevasco of Wentzville, Mo.; a daughter, Wendy Arndt and her husband, John of Waterloo; 14 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Additionally, she is survived by three sisters, Joyce Maiorana of Sebring, Fla., Ethel Macumber of Gilbertsville, and Hilda Youngs of Norwich; as well as a brother, Durward "Bud" Williams of Mount Upton; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by two sisters, Marion Collins and Winetta Davern; and a brother, Fred Williams Jr.
Funeral services for Eloise will be held on Thursday, Feb. 13, 2003, at 1 p.m. at the Wilson Funeral Home.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Thursday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
Burial will take place in the spring in Butternuts Valley Cemetery in Copes Corners.
