Ralph H. Lasher

GARRATTSVILLE — Ralph Harold Lasher, 65, of Garrattsville, N.Y., died Thursday, Sept. 13, 2001, at his home in Garrattsville.
He was born in Oneonta on June 18, 1936, the son of Harold Stuart Lasher and Julia (Rockwell) Lasher.
He served our country in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1958.
He was married to Marjorie Card at her parent's home in New Lisbon on June 10, 1959.
During his younger years, he owned and operated his own garage and hardware store and had also worked for Neil Nielsen Construction. He was employed as a supervisor for Procter & Gamble for 27 years, retiring in 1995. He then went to work for Webster's Paving as a driver.
Ralph will be fondly remembered for his quality time he spent with his kids and grandchildren, and how he particularly enjoyed spoiling his cat Blackie.
He was a charter member and past assistant chief of the Garrattsville Fire Co. and also served as a driver for the Garrattsville ambulance for many years.
He was a member of the United Presbyterian Church of Garrattsville as well as a member of the Quarter Century Club of Procter & Gamble. He was also currently serving as a trustee of the Hillington Cemetery Association.
Ralph is survived by his wife, Marj; his two sons, Victor Lasher and his wife, Nadine, of Garrattsville and Willard (Grady) Lasher and his wife, Robin, of Garrattsville; his four grandchildren, Alicia, Nicholas, Allison and Michaela; his two sisters, Marion Turnbull and Evelyn Webster, both of Morris; and his mother-in-law, Alice Card of Middlefield. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be Monday, Sept. 17, 2001, at 2 p.m. in the United Presbyterian Church in Garrattsvllle with the Rev. Douglas Gray and the Rev. John Buskey officiating.
Interment will follow at the Hillington Cemetery in Morris.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Johnston Funeral Home in Morris on Sunday, Sept. 16. An Otsego County Firemen's Memorial service will be held at the funeral home at 7 p.m. on Sunday.
Those who wish are asked to donate to the Garrattsville Fire Company or the Garrattsville Presbyterian Church in his memory.
Funeral arrangements are by the Johnston Funeral Home of Morris.
