Lura `Peg' Elliott

MORRIS — Lura "Peg" Elliott, 77, of Meadow Lane, Morris, died at her home on Saturday, Aug. 21, 1999, of A.L.S. (Lou Gehrig's Disease). Her body has been donated for A.L.S. research.
Peg and her family are most grateful to the Catskill Area Hospice for its tender care, to the United Methodist Church pastor and congregation, to the Morris Emergency Squad members, to the community, friends and neighbors for the prayers and all the loving kindness and care given to them.
Peg married Edward A. Elliott on Oct. 6, 1940, and together they have made their home in Morris for the past 59 years.
Peg is survived by her husband; her son, Lynn, and his wife, Jean; her daughter, Julie French, and her husband, Peter; and her daughter, Jamie Johnson, and her husband, Earl. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
The family will be in attendance at coffee fellowship hours in the United Methodist Church social rooms in Morris, on the evening of Tuesday, Aug. 24, 1999, from 7 p.m. on.
A Thanksgiving service will be held at the United Methodist Church in Morris, on Wednesday, Aug. 25, 1999, at 7 p.m.
For those of you wishing to do something in Peg's memory — reach out to someone in the days ahead who needs your smile, your touch, your listening and your helping hand.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy in Peg's memory be made in the way of contributions to the Catskill Area Hospice, 542 Main St., Oneonta, N.Y., the United Methodist Church in Morris or the Morris Emergency Squad.
