Gilbertsville Child Dies
Due to Lack of Attention

Tiffany Family Are Unable to Secure Physician
Because of Financial Difficulties Troopers Learn

Gilbertsville, Feb. 19---Investigation on the part of Corporal A. E. Young and Trooper James Heath Tuesday afternoon into the report that dogs had killed geese in the neighborhood near Gilbertsville resulted in the discovery of the death of a seven-month-old girl from the lack of medical attention and two other children of the family lying ill with pneumonia.
The dead child was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Tiffany who lives on the Gilbertsville-Rootsville road about two miles east of this village. The parents told the state police corporal and the trooper that they were unable to secure medical assistance on the account of financial difficulties and also the services of an undertaker for the same reason.
The corporal and the state trooper notified Superintendent Wlliam Dietz and after a conference arrangements were made for medical attention for the other two children, William, 5 years old and Gladys, 3 years old. The family was also given money to buy groceries and arrangements were made for burial of the dead child. The child who died was buried here Wednesday. The other two children were reported as being on the road to recovery today.
