Niles, Catherine (Parker) 1858-1930s
Morris Obituary
Mrs.
Edward Niles of
Morris
Passes Away
Morris, July 17---After many months of invalidism,
Mrs. Edward Niles passed away at the family home on Hargrave street
Monday afternoon at 2:15 from the effects of a slight shock, which
she suffered recently.
Catherine (Parker) Niles, youngest daughter of Calvin
and Eliza Parker, was born March 11, 1858, in Otselic, where she
spent her girlhood.
In March, 1880, she married Edward Niles, for many
years a well known cheesemaker, operating factories in Sherburne and
Maple Grove. Later the family moved to Morris, where for a time Mr.
Niles conducted a livery stable. Mr. Niles died in August, 1932.
To them were born four children: Floyd Niles, now
residing at Lee Center, Guy Niles of Morris, Mrs. Daniel Warner of
Hyde Park, Vt., and Howard Niles, who died in 1921.
The deceased had been a consistent member of the
Methodist church for many years and active in all the branches as
long as her health permitted. However, her chief interest was in the
home, where as a devoted wife and a kind and indulgent mother, her
memory will ever be cherished.
Immediate surviving relatives are the three children
and nine grandchildren, Edward, Donald, Louise, Lois and John
Bradford Niles of Lee Center, Richard, Robert and Jean Warner of
Hyde Park, Vt., Mrs. Harry Winner of Oxford, to all of whom sincere
sympathy is extended.
The funeral services, conducted by Rev. Dr. C. E.
Vermilya, pastor of the Methodist church, will be held in Sloan's
Funeral parlors Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment will be
in the family plot on the new part of Hillington cemetery.
