Cooperstown, May 15---Dr. Charles Wesley Lanning and
Miss Lillian Paddock, both of this village, were quietly married this
morning in the Presbyterian manse on Church street. The ceremony was
performed by Rev. Edward C. Petrie, D. D. , pastor of the
Presbyterian church. The witnesses were the Misses Phylliss A. and
Betty Lanning, daughterS of Dr. Lanning.
Following the service, Dr. and Mrs. Lanning left for
a fortnight's wedding trip in the south, which will include also a
visit to Washington, D. C. On their return they will reside in the
Lanning home on Upper Main street.
Dr. Lanning has been a practicing physician in this
village since 1912, and for the past several years has been
associated with the staff of the Bassett hospital here as eye, ear
and throat specialist. Mrs. Lanning is the daughter of Mrs. Lillian
Meacham Shortsleeves, formerly of Columbus, O. For the past three
years she has been associated with the Bassett hospital staff as
dietitian. Both will have the good wishes of a wide circle of
friends.
