Mary R. Jones, 88,
Dies at Garrattsville
New Lisbon, May 22---Mrs. Mary R. Jones, 88, widow of
Michael C. Jones, died early this morning at the Home of Donald
Bennington, near Garrattsville.
Mary H. Rodney was born in the town of Pittsfield
April 11, 1846. Her parents were William and Isabel (McCoy) Rodney.
Seventy-two years ago she married Mr. Jones. Nearly their entire
married life was spent in the village of Garrattsville, where Mr.
Jones died 15 years ago.
She was a member of the Presbyterian church. Her
only near surviving relatives are a nephew, William H. Rodney of West
Winfield, and a niece, Mrs. Lillian Rooney of South New Berlin.
The funeral will be held in the Presbyterian church
Thursday afternoon at 1 o'clock. Rev. Joseph Muglin, pastor of the
church, will officiate.
The place of interment is unreadable.
On the 1880 Census,
Michael was 40
Mary was 34
William Radley, 6, was listed as a boarder, so I assume
they took in
a child and were caring for him.
I was unable to locate them on any other census reports.
