GARRATTSVILLE — Thomas J. Baker, 43, of Garrattsville, died Monday, Nov. 26, 2001, at Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown.
He was born April 13, 1958, in Amsterdam, the son of Thomas W. Baker and Ethelyn Mae (King) Baker.
He was married to Chastidy Winkler on Sept. 11, 1999, in Garrattsville. He and his wife had operated their own dairy farming business in Garrattsville.
Tom had resided in the Garrattsville area for the past 16 years and was formerly of the Fonda area.
He is survived by his wife, Chastidy of Garrattsville; his three children, Kristoffer Baker of Mohawk, and Tara Baker and Thomas J. Baker Jr., both of Garrattsville; four brothers, Timothy Baker of Gilbertsville, John and Richard Baker of Garrattsville, James Baker of Ames; a sister, Denise Lewis of Mount Upton; his parents, Ethelyn Baker of Garrattsville and Thomas Baker of Tribes Hill. Several nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends also survive him.
He was predeceased by a niece, Katlin Hill; and his maternal grandparents, Henry and Ethel King.
Funeral services will be on Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2001, at 2 p.m. at the Johnston Funeral Home in Morris, with the Rev. Patricia Olmstead officiating. Burial will be in the Hillington Cemetery in Morris. Calling hours will be from noon on Wednesday until service time at 2 p.m.
Those who wish are asked to donate to the Garrattsville Emergency Squad in Tom's memory.
Funeral arrangements are by the Johnston Funeral Home of Morris.
