GARRATTSVILLE — Thomas J. Baker, 43, of Garrattsville, died Monday, Nov. 26, 2001, at Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown.
He was born April 13, 1958, in Amsterdam, the son of Thomas W. Baker and Ethelyn Mae (King) Baker.
He was married to Chastidy Winkler on Sept. 11, 1999, in Garrattsville. He and his wife had operated their own dairy farming business in Garrattsville.
Tom had resided in the Garrattsville area for the past 16 years and was formerly of the Fonda area.
He is survived by his wife, Chastidy of Garrattsville; his three children, Kristoffer Baker of Mohawk, and Tara Baker and Thomas J. Baker Jr., both of Garrattsville; four brothers, Timothy Baker of Gilbertsville, John and Richard Baker of Garrattsville, James Baker of Ames; a sister, Denise Lewis of Mount Upton; his parents, Ethelyn Baker of Garrattsville and Thomas Baker of Tribes Hill. Several nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends also survive him.
He was predeceased by a niece, Katlin Hill; and his maternal grandparents, Henry and Ethel King.
Funeral services will be on Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2001, at 2 p.m. at the Johnston Funeral Home in Morris, with the Rev. Patricia Olmstead officiating. Burial will be in the Hillington Cemetery in Morris. Calling hours will be from noon on Wednesday until service time at 2 p.m.
Those who wish are asked to donate to the Garrattsville Emergency Squad in Tom's memory.
Funeral arrangements are by the Johnston Funeral Home of Morris.

NEW LISBON — Jane E. Bordinger, 43, of New Lisbon, died Monday, May 14, 2001, at her residence.
She was born Feb. 7, 1958, in Oneonta, the daughter of Chauncey C. and Martha (Murphy) House Jr.
She married Douglas J. Bordinger on Sept. 12, 1998.
Jane most recently was employed as a teaching assistant by ONC BOCES at the Oneonta High School. Prior to that she was a day care provider, a licensed beautician, and an area bartender for many years.
Jane was a lover of life. She especially enjoyed the students of the trust program, and fondly referred to them as her boys. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially camping, fishing and gardening. She truly had a green thumb. Her dog, Gabe, was very special to her, also.
She is survived by her husband, Douglas J. Bordinger of New Lisbon; her daughter, Shelby Jo Bordinger of New Lisbon; her mother, Martha D. House of Oneonta; her brothers and sisters and their spouses, Russell and Ginny House of San Diego, Calif., Harold and Phyllis House of Milford, James and Peggie House of Oneonta, Michael House of Belleville, Ill., Mary Colone of Oneonta, Robert House of Oneonta, Joseph and Pat House of Omaha, Neb., Thomas and Renee House of Oneonta, William and Karen House of Traverse City, Mich., JoAnn and Michael Snyder of Oneonta, and Pamela and James Reda of San Diego, Calif.; along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is also survived by her mother and father-in-law, Edward and Jean Bordinger of Oneonta; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Ed and Tammy Bordinger and Jeff and Tresha Bordinger.
Since there will be no calling hours, a service to celebrate the life of Jane E. Bordinger will be held at noon on Thursday, May 17, 2001, in the Lester R. Grummons Funeral Home, 14 Grand St., Oneonta.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Catskill Area Hospice.
