Mrs. Ira S. Sweet, Wife of Dr. Ira S. Sweet, died
Friday at her home, 1505 Genesee street, Utica
Martha A. Brown was born in the town of Columbus,
April 18, 1853, daughter of the late Samuel and Lois Loyd Brown. She
moved to Utica in 1906. She attended Brookfield academy and was
graduated from the Ladies' seminary at Hamilton. September 22, 1880,
she was married to Dr. Sweet. The couple observed their golden
wedding anniversary a year ago last September. She was a member of
Tabernacle Baptist church, Farther Lights and Pastor's Aid societies.
She leaves her husband; three daughters, Mrs. Fred
Camenga, New Berlin; Dr. Flora Sweet Schafer and Mrs. H. K Fiske,
Utica; a son, Dr. Samuel W. Sweet, Utica, and two grandsons.
