Funeral
of Floyd Porter Held at New Lisbon Home
New Lisbon, June 10—Funeral services were held
here Saturday for Floyd Porter, who died suddenly at the home of his
daughter, Mrs. Jerry Fredericks, near the Brick schoolhouse
Wednesday, Rev. C. E. Vermilya of Garrattsville officiating. Burial
was in the Butternut Valley cemetery.
The bearers were Elliot Johnson, Arthur Winters,
Clarence Lewis and Jerry Fralick.
Mr. Porter was born in New Lisbon, June 26, 1863,
and was the son of Elijah and Mary Porter. In June, 1893, he married
Dora Chase. Besides his wife, he is survived by the daughter above
mentioned; four brothers, Elmer Porter of Syracuse, Acel Porter of
New York, Charles Porter of Norwich, Abbott Porter of Portlandville;
a sister, Mrs. Minnie Gardner of Laurens and two granddaughters.
Comment: Probably the death notice is correct on his
daughter's last name being Fralick instead of Fredericks. And Jerry
Fralick was mentioned as one of the bearers. My family knew the
Fralicks.
