Mrs.
Sophia A. Perry
Mrs. Sophia A. Perry, 82, died June 1 at her home in
West Oneonta after an illness of about three months.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p. m. Sunday in
West Oneonta Baptist Church on the 63rd anniversary of her
joining that church, in which she remained active until her recent
illness.
The Rev. John Michael, pastor, will officiate.
Burial will be in Cook Cemetery, West Oneonta.
Mrs. Perry was born July 17, 1873, in the Town of
Laurens, a daughter of William and Frances (Smith) Day. She was
married June 17, 1891, to Arthur Perry, and the couple had been
making plans for the celebration of their 65th wedding
anniversary this month.
She had lived for 18 years in her West Oneonta home,
where friends may call at their convenience until noon Sunday, when
her body will be moved to the church for the services.
She is survived by her husband; one sister, Mrs.
Fred Tilley, who until her marriage had been brought up by Mr. and
Mrs. Perry; a niece, Mrs. Roderick Dutcher, and a nephew, Lee
Tilley, all of West Oneonta
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the
Bookhout funeral Home.
