Morehouse, John Gould 1873-about 1935 Hartwick Obituary

JOHN MOREHOUSE

John Gould Morehouse, a director of the Hartwick National bank and chief of the Hartwick hose company since it was organized years ago, died Sunday morning in the Fox Memorial hospital, Oneonta, where he had been a patient for about ten days. Mr. Morehouse was injured by a fall from the roof of a house.
The funeral was held at his late home Tuesday afternoon and burial was made in the Hartwick cemetery.
Mr. Morehouse, who was a highly respected resident of Hartwick for twenty-five years, was born in the town of New Lisbon Jan. 28, 1873, the second son of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Morehouse. He lived in the town of New Lisbon until moving to Hartwick in 1920. His marriage to Miss Grace Kinney occurred in April 1930. Surviving are his wife; one sister, Miss Ella Morehouse of Bridgeport, Conn; two brothers, Bert Morehouse of Garrattsville and George Morehouse of Oneonta, and several cousins.
