Pearl M. Card
Mrs. Pearl M. Card, 73, a former
telephone operator in Gilbertsville
for 35 years, died Saturday at the home
of her son, Roland Card of Oneonta.
Funeral services will be conducted
at 2 p. m. Monday, February 29 in the Bookout Funeral Home, the Rev.
Ronald Tryon, pastor, Gilbertsville Baptist Church, officiating.
Burial in Brick Schoolhouse Cemetery, Garrattsville, at a later date.
Mrs. Card was born Sept. 12, 1886,
in Hartwick, the daughter of Adelbert and Amelia (Foote) Barton. She
retired two years ago because of ill health after working as a
telephone operator in Gilbertsville, 35 years. She had lived in
Oneonta for the past four months.
She was a member of the
Gilbertsville Baptist Church, past matron of the Butternuts Chapter
of OES, and Women's Relief Corps of Gilbertsville.
She is survived by two sons, Roland
of Oneonta and Harold of Burbank, Calif.; one sister Mrs. Luella
Galusha, Canajoharie, five grandchildren and several nieces and
nephews.
