Alice Louise Card

NEW LISBON — Alice Louise Card, 93, of New Lisbon died Sunday, Dec. 5, 2004, at Otsego Manor, town of Otsego.
She was born Sept. 2, 1911, in the town of Laurens, the daughter of A. Burton and Carrie Eldred.
She married Steward Card on July 2, 1932, in Mount Vision. He died May 17, 1979. She was a homemaker and lifelong resident of the Mount Vision/Laurens area until 1947, at which time they purchased their farm in New Lisbon.
She was a former member of the New Lisbon Women’s Club, the Garrattsville Senior Citizens Club, the Garrattsville Emergency Squad and the Firemen’s Auxiliary. She had served on the Town of New Lisbon Election Board for many years.
She enjoyed cooking and baking for her grandchildren and enjoyed family gatherings and her many friends.
Alice is survived by her daughters, Marjorie Lasher of Garrattsville and Marie Holt and husband Richard of New Lisbon; and a son, Harold Card and wife Betty of Maryland. Alice was blessed with 10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and many friends.
She was predeceased by a son-in-law, Ralph H. Lasher; sisters, Ethel Bennett, Hazel George and Doris Gladstone; and brothers, Carl and Alfred Eldred.
Calling hours will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2004, at the Johnston Funeral Home in Morris.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2004, at the funeral home with the Rev. Douglas Gray officiating. Burial will follow in the Lena Cemetery, town of New Lisbon.
Funeral arrangements are by the Johnston Funeral Home of Morris.
