Dies at Garrattsville Home

New Lisbon, May 14---Mrs. Jennie H. Parker, 66, widow of Alvah Parker, of Garrattsville, died at the family home at 4 this morning. She had been ill since March 1.

Funeral services will be held at the home Thursday afternoon at 3. Rev. L. Curtis Denny, rector of the Epoiscopal church at Morris, of which Mrs. Parker was a member, will officiate, and burial will be made in Union cemetery at Edmeston.

Mrs. Parker was born in New Lisbon, a daughter of Albert and Mary (Newton) Harris. She was member of the Edmeston Eastern Star, the Wharton Valley Grange at Edmeston, and the Home Betterment club, Garrattsville.

Survivors, to whom friends will extend sympathy, are a son Albert, Burlington Flats; a sister, Mrs. Edith Coman, Herkimer; two grandchildren, Janice and Victor, Garrattsville; a brother, Edwin Harris, Athol, Mass. A son, Lee died the same year as Mrs. Parker's husband, 1936.

George Elliott Succumbs Suddenly at Garrattsville

New Lisbon, April 27---George Elliott, one of the best known and highly esteemed residents of this vicinity, suddenly passed away at his home in Garrattsville about 8:30 o'clock last evening. He had been in his usual health during the day. It had been his custom to go to the barn before retiring. When he failed to return as usual, his sister, thinking that he had gone to the store across the street, telephoned, and found that he was not there.

With her brother, she went to the barn and found the lifeless form lying face downward on the floor. Dr. B. F. Bishop, who resides across the street, was called, but found life extinct.

Mr. Elliott was the youngest son of William and Isabel (Hall) Elliott. He was born January11, 1873, on the Elliott homestead, about three miles from Garrattsville. The family always resided there until two years ago, when they sold the farm and moved to Garrattsville.

The deceased was a member of the Presbyterian church, a man of fine attainments, and always kindly disposed. His endearing qualities made many friends for him. He was never married.

Surviving are one brother, Thomas, and a sister, Miss Dorothy Elliott, both residing at the family home; two nephews, Dr. William Elliott of New Berlin, and Ned Elliott of New Lisbon.

Funeral services will be held at the family home Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. E. E. Hutchinson, pastor of the Episcopal church at Morris, will officiate. Burial will be in the Butternut Valley cemetery.

Jennie Hurlbutt, widow of the late William Elliott, died at the family home near Garrattsville Sunday morning, after a few days' illness with pneumonia. She was born, February 5, 1868, in the town of Pittsfield, a daughter of Lealand and Elizabeth (Gill) Hurlbutt. After her marriage to William Elliott, they resided for a time on Gill hill, but for many years have lived on the farm where she died. She was a member of the Presbyterian church at Garrattsville for many years. Surviving are one son, Ned Elliott who resides on the home farm; a sister, Mrs. Adella Garlick of Chicago, and two grandchildren. Owing to the illness of her son and grandson the funeral will be private. It will be held Wednesday at 1 o'clock at her late home. Rev. E. E. Hutchinson of Morris will officiate. Interment will be beside her husband in Hillington cemetery at Morris.

Private Funeral Services Are Held for Mrs. Elliott

Edmeston, March 2 --- Private funeral services for Mrs. Jennie Elizabeth Elliott of New Lisbon were held yesterday from the residence of her son, Edward H. Elliott of that village. Rev. E. E. Hutchinson of Morris officiated, and burial was made in Hillington cemetery, Morris.

Mrs. Elliott died Saturday night, after a week's illness with pneumonia. Her husband, William Elliott, died about 11 years ago. Recently she had made her home with her son.

She was born at New Lisbon February5, 1868, the daughter of Leland and Elizabeth Hurlbutt. Her entire life was spent in the towns of Pittsfield and New Lisbon. Her marriage to William Elliott took place in 1890.

Surviving relatives are: The son previously mentioned; a sister, Mrs. Adella L. Garlick of Chicago, Ill., and two grandchildren, Donald and Maxine Elliott.

Emma C. Gledhill Dies At Garrattsville Home

New Lisbon, April 26---Emma C. Gledhill, 91 years of age, one of the oldest and best known residents of the town of New Lisbon, died at 6:30 o'clock this morning at her home in Garrattsville. Death was due to infirmities aggravated by her advanced age. The funeral will be held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon in the Methodist Episcopal church at Garrattsville, and burial will be made in the Brick School House cemetery.
