Mansfield, Ella
L. 1849-1932 Morris Obituary
Mrs.
Ella L. Mansfield
Dies
Friday in Morris
Funeral
Last Sunday With Good Attendance
The
Rector, Rev. E. E. Hutchinson, Officated
Morris, March 21---Morris has lost in the death of
Mrs. Ella Mansfield another of the lifetime residents of the village.
She passed away on Friday last after a long and trying illness, very
patiently borne, at her late home after a critical illness of a few
days only. She was born on the East hill in a farm home in 1849, and
had always been one of our number. Bishop Tuttle baptized her and
she was later confirmed by Bishop Horatio Potter of the diocese of
New York.
Her husband, Vernon Mansfield, to whom she was
married in 1895, died several years ago.
Her nephew, Howard Coggeshall, now of Utica, and a
few other nephews and nieces, are the only ones left to mourn her
passing, save a large circle of friends who have long known her. She
loved her church though of late able to attend but little at the
services.
The funeral was held at Zion church on Sunday last at
2 o'clock, and the attendance was all that one could expect and her
flowers were beautiful pieces. Her parents were Jacob and Christine
Coggeshall, both of whom died many years ago.
