Cevasco, Eloise G. (Williams) 1930-2003 Norwich NY Obituary

Eloise G. Cevasco

NORWICH — Eloise G. Cevasco, 72, of Division Street, passed away peacefully on Monday, Feb. 10, 2003, at her home after an extended illness. Her loving family was at her bedside.
Born Aug. 28, 1930, in Gilbertsville, she was the daughter of Fred and Pearl (Rogers) Williams. She graduated from Gilbertsville High School.
On Sept. 15, 1951, she married Robert E. Cevasco, who survives. A native of the area, Eloise, in addition to raising her five children, worked after graduation at the former Imperial Tea Room in Norwich and then for General Laboratories, later Simmonds Precision, for over 28 years retiring in 1993.
For eight years following her retirement, Eloise traveled and worked with her husband. For the last several years she enjoyed her winters at their home in Sebring, Fla.
Eloise loved the outdoors and spent many summers camping at Leland Pond with her family and friends.
She also enjoyed playing shuffleboard and golf.
Eloise was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and of the Women of the Moose.
In addition to her loving husband, Robert, of Norwich; she is survived by four sons and their wives, Denny and Joanne Cevasco of Norwich, Randy and Marge Cevasco of Central Square, Ritchie and Debbie Cevasco of Sidney, and Robby and Jill Cevasco of Wentzville, Mo.; a daughter, Wendy Arndt and her husband, John of Waterloo; 14 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Additionally, she is survived by three sisters, Joyce Maiorana of Sebring, Fla., Ethel Macumber of Gilbertsville, and Hilda Youngs of Norwich; as well as a brother, Durward "Bud" Williams of Mount Upton; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by two sisters, Marion Collins and Winetta Davern; and a brother, Fred Williams Jr.
Funeral services for Eloise will be held on Thursday, Feb. 13, 2003, at 1 p.m. at the Wilson Funeral Home.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Thursday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
Burial will take place in the spring in Butternuts Valley Cemetery in Copes Corners.

Osborne, Lois Ann 1939-2002 Gilbertsville NY Connections

EFLAND, N.C. — Lois Ann Osborne, 63, of Efland, N.C., passed away Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2002, at her home after a lengthy illness.
She was born in Gilbertsville on May 25, 1939, the daughter of Donald and Dora (Richards) Osborne.
She is survived by her mother of Gilbertsville, N.Y.; a son, Steven and Susan Musson of San Diego, Calif.; a daughter, Kimberly and Todd Broucksou of Efland, N.C.; two brothers, Donald and Cathy Osborne and Richard and Pat Osborne, all of Gilbertsville; one sister, Linda and Al Brooke of Phoenix, Ariz.; four grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Her father predeceased her.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 24, 2002, at the Presbyterian Church in Gilbertsville, N.Y., with the Rev. Dr. Donald Boardman officiating. Calling hours for family and friends will be from 1 p.m. until service time at the church on Sunday.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Presbyterian Church of Gilbertsville, N.Y.

White, Jean (Whittemore) 1919-2002 Born in Gilbertsville NY

WELLSVILLE — Jean W. White, 82, of Manor Hills, Wellsville, passed away Sunday, Aug. 11, 2002, at Jones Memorial Hospital in Wellsville.
She was born Dec. 27, 1919, in Gilbertsville, the daughter of Samuel Woodland and Pamelia Whittemore.
She married Linn Robert White on July 18, 1943, in Gilbertsville. He predeceased her on Aug. 20, 1998.
Jean had been a resident of Wellsville since 1998 and had formerly resided with her son at 3477 Riverside Drive.
She was a 1937 graduate of Gilbertsville Central School. She owned and operated the Bob White Shop in Cooperstown Junction, retiring in 1987.
She was a member of the First Congregational Church in Wellsville and the Maryland Baptist Church in Maryland.
She is survived by two sons, Dennis (JoAnne) White of Scio, and Roger (Nancy) White of Langley, Wash.; one daughter, Linda (Alton) VanCleef of Cooperstown; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a sister, Laura Trask, in 1975.
Friends are invited to call from 7 to 9 p.m. only, on Tuesday at the J.W. Embser Sons Funeral Home Inc., 34 W. State St. in Wellsville. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2002, at the funeral home, with the Rev. William Jones, officiating.
Burial will be in Gilbertsville Cemetery.

A memorial service in Maryland will be planned for a later date.

Jean W. White

WELLSVILLE — A memorial service for Jean W. White, 82, who died on Aug. 11, 2002, in Wellsville, will be held on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2002.
Jean White, was born in Gilbertsville, and resided in Maryland, until 1998, when she moved to Wellsville to live with her son, Dennis White.
The Rev. Peter Mudge, will officiate for the service to be held at 1 p.m., at the Maryland Baptist Church, Maryland. Graveside services will immediately follow at the Butternuts Cemetery in Gilbertsville.

Musk, Florence E. (Austin) 1907-2002 Pittsfield NY Obituary

Florence E. Musk

PITTSFIELD — Florence E. Musk, 94 years, of Pittsfield, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2002, in Norwich.
She was born Oct. 7, 1907, in the town of Gilbertsville, the daughter of Alvin and Margaret (Watts) Austin.
She married Clifton W. Musk on Nov. 2, 1929. He predeceased her in 1978.
She spent her childhood in the Gilbertsville area. She was a graduate of Mount Upton Central School.
She is survived by her daughter, Ada Mae Musk Burrs of South New Berlin; adoptive son, Paul Wayne Musk of New Berlin; and two sisters, Esther Ingalls of Franklin and Irene Phillips of Sidney.
She was predeceased by one daughter, Mary Elizabeth in 1933; two sisters, Ethel Ingalls and Lina Barnes; and one brother, Henry Alvin Austin.
She worked as a child-care provider, farmer and nurse's aide for the Chase Nursing Home.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in New Berlin. She was a member of the Home Bureau & Grange.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 7, 2002, at 2 p.m. at the Dakin Funeral Home in New Berlin, with the Rev. Beverly Butler of the First United Methodist Church in New Berlin officiating.
Interment will be in Copes Corners Cemetery in the town of Gilbertsville.
There will be no calling hours.
Arrangements are by the Dakin Funeral Home of New Berlin.

Tiffany, Mason E. 1920-2001 West Burlington NY Obituary

WEST BURLINGTON — Mason E. Tiffany, 80, of West Burlington, died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2001, at The Meadows in Middlefield.
He was born Dec. 29, 1920, in Gilbertsville, the son of Ellis and Etta (Hackett) Tiffany.
He married Wanda Colburn on July 15, 1950.
Mason retired from the New York State Department of Transportation.
He continued to be active by enjoying the outdoors through fishing and hunting. Many hours were also spent sitting in his doorway socializing with neighbors while tinkering with mowers.
Mason is survived by his wife, Wanda; his children, Barbara Murphy, Linda Winsor and her husband, Robert; his grandchildren, Kevin Rous, Kristie Willix; great-grandchildren, Justin Rous, Jason Rous, Jordan Rous and George Mason Willix; his brothers, William and Raymond Tiffany; and his sisters, Gladys Wright and Shirley Tiffany and Betty Tiffany.
He was predeceased by one great-granddaughter, Erika: and his brothers, Clarence and Louis Tiffany.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Dec. 21, 2001, at 11 a.m. at the Houk-Johnston-Terry Funeral Home, Edmeston, with the Rev. John Young officiating. Calling hours are Thursday, Dec. 20, 2001, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mason's memory to the Edmeston Emergency Squad; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
