White, Jean (Whittemore) 1919-2002 Born in Gilbertsville NY

WELLSVILLE — Jean W. White, 82, of Manor Hills, Wellsville, passed away Sunday, Aug. 11, 2002, at Jones Memorial Hospital in Wellsville.
She was born Dec. 27, 1919, in Gilbertsville, the daughter of Samuel Woodland and Pamelia Whittemore.
She married Linn Robert White on July 18, 1943, in Gilbertsville. He predeceased her on Aug. 20, 1998.
Jean had been a resident of Wellsville since 1998 and had formerly resided with her son at 3477 Riverside Drive.
She was a 1937 graduate of Gilbertsville Central School. She owned and operated the Bob White Shop in Cooperstown Junction, retiring in 1987.
She was a member of the First Congregational Church in Wellsville and the Maryland Baptist Church in Maryland.
She is survived by two sons, Dennis (JoAnne) White of Scio, and Roger (Nancy) White of Langley, Wash.; one daughter, Linda (Alton) VanCleef of Cooperstown; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a sister, Laura Trask, in 1975.
Friends are invited to call from 7 to 9 p.m. only, on Tuesday at the J.W. Embser Sons Funeral Home Inc., 34 W. State St. in Wellsville. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2002, at the funeral home, with the Rev. William Jones, officiating.
Burial will be in Gilbertsville Cemetery.

WELLSVILLE — A memorial service for Jean W. White, 82, who died on Aug. 11, 2002, in Wellsville, will be held on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2002.
Jean White, was born in Gilbertsville, and resided in Maryland, until 1998, when she moved to Wellsville to live with her son, Dennis White.
The Rev. Peter Mudge, will officiate for the service to be held at 1 p.m., at the Maryland Baptist Church, Maryland. Graveside services will immediately follow at the Butternuts Cemetery in Gilbertsville.

Dutka, Victor 1919-2002 Morris NY Obituary

Victor Dutka
MORRIS — Victor Dutka, 82, formerly of Morris, N.Y., died Wednesday, April 3, 2002, at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Glendale, N.Y.
He was born on Dec. 19, 1919, in Engerau, Czechoslovakia, the son of Andreas and Emilie (Kristofek) Dutka. He married Josephine Oettinger in 1948. She died on July 5, 1994.
He had worked as a forester before WW II and moved to New York in 1956 and worked in the printing industry and later as a sheet metal technician and had resided in Glendale until his retirement when he moved to Morris in 1984. He had resided most recently at the Dominican Village in Amityville, N.Y.
Victor is survived by his son, Michael Dutka, and daughter-in- law, Denise, and his daughter, Margaret Rehberger, and son-in-law, Ken. He was brother to Gitta Dutka of Hainburg, Austria. He was blessed by his grandchildren, Kathryn Rehberger, Nicholas, Stefan and Jonathan Dutka.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, April 6, from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Schwille Funeral Home in Glendale.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, April 7, from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Johnston Funeral Home in Morris.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 8, at 9:30 a.m. at the Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church in Morris, with the Rev. John Burns officiating.
Committal services and burial will follow at the Hillington Cemetery in Morris.

Poling, LeRoy F. 1919-2002 Formerly of Garrattsville NY

PALM BAY, Fla. — LeRoy F. Poling, 83, formerly of Garrattsville, N.Y., died at his home in Palm Bay, Fla., on Saturday, March 2, 2002.
Born in Union, Ohio, in 1919, he lived in Garrattsville until 1972, when he moved to Belle Glade, Fla.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army. He landed in France on D-Day and took part in the Battle of the Bulge.
He was superintendent of highways for the town of New Lisbon until 1972.
After moving to Florida, he was sanitation superintendent for the city of Belle Glade and also taught mechanics at the vocational school there. After moving to Palm Bay in 1984, he went to work for Avis as a driver.
He was especially proud of his four children and his 20 years on the Morris Central School Board of Education, several as its president.
His survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Betty Hull Poling, of Palm Bay, Fla.; his children and their spouses, Nick and Sue Poling of Juliaetta, Ind., Jeff and Kathie Poling of Oneonta, N.Y., Sharon and Nick Lambros of Oneonta, N.Y., Bonnie Burke and Bruce Dietzen of Key West, Fla.; grandchildren, Matt, Sean and Kayla Poling, Maria and Jaclyn Lambros and Derek Burke; a brother, Charles and Pat Poling of Oneida, N.Y.; sisters, June and Richard Rollins of Garrattsville, N.Y., Billie and Ron Snyder of Belle Glade, Fla., and Florence and Robert Arnold of Burlington Flats, N.Y.
Graveside services will be held at Florida Memorial Gardens in Rockledge, Fla., at noon on Tuesday.
