PITTSFIELD — Gladys M. Scrivener, 72, of Pittsfield, died Sunday, Aug. 31, 2003, at her home in Pittsfield.
She was born on Sept. 23, 1930, in the town of Burlington, one of 17 children, born to Willard Mclean and Ella (Southworth) Mclean.
She was married to Harold Scrivener on March 31, 1952, in Burlington.
She had been employed by the New Berlin Shoe Factory and Simmons Precision of Norwich.
She is survived by her husband, Harold, of Pittsfield; her children, Michele Sprague and her husband, Jeff of Summit Lake, Kevin Scrivener and his wife, Terri of Edmeston, Mitchell Scrivener and his wife, Karen of Plymouth; grandchildren include: Erik, Erin, Evan and Ashley Scrivener. She was one of 17 children and is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
There will be no calling hours and at Gladys' request; she is to be cremated at Hillington Crematory and no services held.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy be done by donations to the Alzheimer's Association, Northeastern New York Chapter, Leatherstocking Branch, P.O. Box 1364, Oneonta, NY 13820. Envelopes are available at the Johnston Funeral Home, 60 Broad St., Morris, NY.

Musk, Florence E. (Austin) 1907-2002 Pittsfield NY Obituary

Florence E. Musk

PITTSFIELD — Florence E. Musk, 94 years, of Pittsfield, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2002, in Norwich.
She was born Oct. 7, 1907, in the town of Gilbertsville, the daughter of Alvin and Margaret (Watts) Austin.
She married Clifton W. Musk on Nov. 2, 1929. He predeceased her in 1978.
She spent her childhood in the Gilbertsville area. She was a graduate of Mount Upton Central School.
She is survived by her daughter, Ada Mae Musk Burrs of South New Berlin; adoptive son, Paul Wayne Musk of New Berlin; and two sisters, Esther Ingalls of Franklin and Irene Phillips of Sidney.
She was predeceased by one daughter, Mary Elizabeth in 1933; two sisters, Ethel Ingalls and Lina Barnes; and one brother, Henry Alvin Austin.
She worked as a child-care provider, farmer and nurse's aide for the Chase Nursing Home.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in New Berlin. She was a member of the Home Bureau & Grange.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 7, 2002, at 2 p.m. at the Dakin Funeral Home in New Berlin, with the Rev. Beverly Butler of the First United Methodist Church in New Berlin officiating.
Interment will be in Copes Corners Cemetery in the town of Gilbertsville.
There will be no calling hours.
Arrangements are by the Dakin Funeral Home of New Berlin.

"Charles Arthur Gardner, aged 75, of Pittsfield, died June 22, at his home after an illness of nine years. Mr. Gardner was born January 6, 1885, in New Lisbon, the son of John W. and Flora (Gillies) Gardner. He married Harriet E. Goodspeed, October 10, 1910. He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Miss Edna Gardner at home, and Miss Agnes Gardner of New Berlin; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Couse, Oneonta; Mrs. Blanche Brown, Norwich and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held in the Dakin Funeral Home, New Berlin, at 10:30 a. m., Saturday, the Rev. William Bartz, pastor of First Methodist Church, officiating. Miller, Elizabeth H. (Holl) 1933-2000 Pittsfield NY Obituary

PITTSFIELD — Elizabeth H. (Liz) Miller, 67, of Pittsfield, went to be with our Lord on Monday, Oct. 2, 2000.
She was born Feb. 26, 1933, in Oneonta, the daughter of James Averell Holl and Mary L. Wilson.
She was married to Lewis (Lukie) Miller on March 25, 1951, in New Berlin.
Liz was the cafeteria manager at the Morris Central School for 29 years which she enjoyed very much.
She was a lifelong resident of the New Berlin/Morris area, where she lived most of her life on the family dairy farm that she and her husband operated for nearly 50 years. She also worked and maintained the family's harness horses and the auction and feed store businesses.
She was an active part of the Otsego County Fair and secretary of the N.Y.S. Sires Harness Racing Association for many years.
She was also a 25-year member of the Unadilla Grange and the Otsego County Pomona Grange.
Liz lighted the hearts of many and will be terribly missed.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 50 years, Lukie Miller of Pittsfield; her children, Timothy L. Miller and his wife, Vicky, Terry L. Miller and his wife, Lisa, Lois Miller-Ballard and her husband, John, Wesley J. Miller and Mary Jane E. Conroe and her husband, Jeff, all of New Berlin.
She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, Everett (Flip) Hopper, Kevin S. Hopper, Melissa J. Hopper, Tonya M. Miller, Timothy L. Miller Jr., Michelle N. Miller, Sarah E. Conroe, Jessica L. Card, Luke M. Conroe, Merissa L. Card, Michael D. Miller, Matthew. J. Conroe and Makenzie L. Ballard; three sisters-in-law, Mildred I. Chase, Margaret Conklin and Ethel White; and a brother-in-law, Donald Miller; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by a brother-in-law, Harley W. Miller; and a sister-in-law, Aleta Smith.
Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church of Morris on Friday, Oct. 6, 2000, at 1:30 p.m., with the Rev. J. Mark Norlund officiating. Calling hours will be from 7 to 9 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Morris.
Committal services and burial will follow the funeral service in Hillington Cemetery in Morris.
Those who wish are asked to donate to the "Liz Miller Memorial Scholarship Fund," in care of Morris Central School, Morris, N.Y. 13808.
Funeral arrangements are by the Johnston Funeral Home of Morris.
