Franklin, Aug. 7.---Miss Eunice Irene King, daughter of Superintendent and Mrs. W. C. King of Franklin, and Gerreth R. Smith of Unadilla, were united in marriage at the River Street Baptist parsonage in Oneonta by Rev. C. L. Dakin, Monday evening, August 5, at 8 o'clock. The bride and groom were atttended by Mr. and Mrs. Robert Peake of Franklin. Mr. and Mrs. Smith have rented furnished rooms in Treadwell and went to their home on Monday evening. Both resumed their usual duties on Tuesday morning. Mr. Smith is the new stage driver from Treadwell to Franklin to Merrickville. Congratulations are extended the young couple.

New Lisbon Couple Are
Wed in New Berlin Church

New Berlin, April 7 (Special)---One of the prettiest social events of the season occurred Saturday evening at 9 o'clock, when Rector Henry Hale Gifford at St. Andrew's Episcopal church married Grace E. Ball, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ball, to Ceylon A. Toombs, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Toombs, both of New Lisbon.
The church was decorated with cut flowers and the attending ones were two sisters of the bride, Mrs. Cecilia Weldon of Morris and Mrs. Elsie Ball Cooke of New Lisbon. The bride wore a beautiful dress of all silk flat crepe, color waikiki.
The bridegroom is a popular and successful farmer. Both are members of the Laurens Grange. A wide circle of friends and acquaintances join in congratulations and best wishes for a long and happy wedded life.

Makes first Solo Flight

Dr. John D. Fuller, resident pediatrician at the Mary Imogene Bassett hospital at Cooperstown, made his first solo flight late Saturday afternoon at the Keyes Oneonta airport in the plane of the Oneonta flying club, of which Dr. Fuller is a member. He had received six hours and 22 minutes of instruction time in the air from Pilot Carlton J. Hinman, manager of the field.
Dr. Fuller started his instruction October 28.

Before Seybolt Today

John Berbin, alleged proprietor of an Edmeston Speakeasy, will be arraigned before United States Deputy Commissioner Seybolt here this morning for investigation. Berbin was brought here about 8 o'clock Saturday evening by Trooper Maynard of the state police, and lodged in the city jail. It is presumed bond will be furnished him this morning.

Maynard, stationed at Edmeston, stated that he entered Berbin's place of business Saturday afternoon in civilian clothes, following numerous complaints by citizens, of the locality. The trooper obtained evidence and made the arrest, he stated. He will appear as a witness during the hearing this morning.

A small daughter of Berbin's was brought here with him and turned over to a private family by Mrs. Hazel Foster Brady, police matron. Late yesterday afternoon, friends of the prisoner came here and took the child back with them.

Seybolt Releases Edmeston Man
Under Bond of $1,000

John Berbin, arraigned before United States Commissioner Arthur Seybolt here yesterday on a charge of running a speakeasy in Edmeston,
was released under $1,000 bond, following a partial examination.
Irving Baxter of Utica appeared for the defendant. The hearing was partially held and then adjourned by Commissioner Seybolt in order that Mr. Baxter might leave for the south to spend the Christmas holidays.

The hearing will be completed here on Janurary 18.
Berbin's bond was furnished by Mrs. Maggie Gillace of Edmeston and he returned home last night.
