"James Perry, an esteemed resident of New Lisbon, died at 10 o'clock
Tuesday morning, November 28th. Although in poor health for a number of
years he was confined to his bed only a short time. Death was from
tuberculosis. The deceased was born September 30, 1856, in the town of
Pittsfield, the only son of James and Louisa Perry. In 1880 he was
united in marriage to Maggie Stanhouse. Nearly his whole life was spent
in the Butternut Valley where he owned a large farm A few years ago he
was obliged to give up farming and since has worked at market
gardening. He is survived by his wife, and one daughter, Annie, and one
sister, Mrs. Lenora Stanhouse, of Oneonta ... Interment in Hillington
