Mrs. Ada F. Chamberlain

Mrs. Ada F. Chamberlain died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Arthur Jester, at Otego, Friday, August 30. Death was caused by angina pectoris. She had been in ill health for the past two years but death came suddenly.

Mrs. Chamberlain was born in Columbia county 76 years ago. When ten years of age she came to live with her aunt, Mrs. Lavina Silvernail, at Trout Creek. In 1880 she was married to Alonzo Chamberlain and lived at Trout Creek until the death of her husband in 1891. Since that time she she spent most of the time in Sidney and Walton. For the past eight years she has lived with her son, Fred Chamberlain, in Walton. Mrs. Chamberlain is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Arthur Jester, of Otego, and Mrs. Willam Spencer of Sidney, and one son, Fred Chamberlain, of Walton, and nine grandchildren. She was a member of the Walton Methodist church and of the Unahanna Rebekah lodge of Sidney and the Past Grands association of the Otsego district.

The funeral was held at the home of her son, Fred Chamberlain, in Walton on Monday afternoon at one o'clock, Rev. Grant Robinson, officiating. Burial was made in the Trout

Creek cemetery.

Washington, D. C., Jan. 9, (Special to The Star)--Dr. Louis R. Morris of Morris, donor of Neahwa park to the city of Oneonta and well known for his many philanthropies, will have an audience with President Hoover Friday at 12:30 o'clock at the White House through the intercession of Representative John D. Clarke.

Following the interview with the President, Dr. Morris will call on Attorney General Mitchell. The appointment with Mr. Mitchell, also made by Mr. Clarke is for 2:30 o'clock.

Dr. Morris, it was pointed out in Washington, is a grandson of one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence. Mrs. Morris, daughter of the late Senator Clarke of Montana, gave the new annex to the Corcoran Art Gallery of Washington.

No political significance is attached to the interviews, Representative Clarke 
said.

Comment:  The paper had spelled his name wrong.  It should have been Dr. Lewis R. Morris.

Funeral Sunday

New Lisbon, May 27---Irving Crandall, a well known and highly esteemed resident of New Lisbon, died at his home near Naylors Corners, Friday, after many weeks illness with cancer.

Mr. Crandall was born in the town of Milford, November 15, 1853, the son of Timothy and Laura Bitterley Crandall. His early life was spent in the town of his birth. Later and after his marriage to Ella Sommers about 45 years ago he moved to a farm in the town of Laurens, where they resided for a number of years. Eight years ago they bought the late Orten Peep place at New Lisbon, where they have since resided.

Beside his wife he is survived by three sons, Harris Crandall, of Saratoga Springs, Albert Crandall of Otego, and George Crandall, who resides on a farm adjoining his parents; five grandchildren, a niece and one nephew, residing at Burlington Flats.

The funeral was held at his home Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock and was largely attended. Rev. E. E. Hutchinson, rector of Zion Episcopal church of Morris, of which the deceased was a member for many years, officiated. Interment was made in Hillington cemetery.

Miss Katherine Mary Mack and Robert C. Dibble were married at

2 p. m., Saturday, November 29 in Christ Episcopal Church in Cooperstown. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. H. Mack, Hartwick, and Mr. Dibble is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Dibble, Richfield Springs.

The Rev. George F. French performed the ceremony before an altar decorated with seasonal flowers and candelabra. Dr. Edward T. Farmer provided traditional organ music.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a ballerina length gown of white lace over taffeta in princess style with three quarter sleeves. She wore a fingertip veil and carried a white prayer book with a white orchid.

Miss Shirley Ann Matteson, Hartwick was maid of honor. She wore a ballerina length dress of rose taffeta with a matching jacket. She carried a light pink rose bouquet.

Miss Elizabeth Patterson, Teaneck, N. J. was the bridesmaid. She wore a ballerina length gown of sea green taffeta with a matching jacket and carried a light pink bouquet.

Robert Earl, Hartwick, was the best man. Ushers were Douglas Tabor, Schenectady, and Robert Ryan, Hartwick.

A reception for 100 guests was held at the home of the bride's parents. The bride's table was decorated with a three-tiered wedding cake of blue and white.

Following a trip to the northern part of New York State, the newlyweds will live at 841 Adams Street, Schenectady.

The bride is a graduate of Cooperstown Central School and was employed in the Record Room of the Bassett Hospital. Mr. Dibble is a graduate of Laurens Central School and is employed by the Rutland Lumber Company, Albany.

Open house was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Archie Eldred in New Lisbon, Nov. 14, in honor of their 64^th wedding anniversary; also Mrs. Eldred's 82^nd birthday.

Archie Eldred and Mabel Rouse were married Nov. 14, 1895 at Laurens Methodist Parsonage by Rev. E. E. Pierce. Their attendants were Fred Palmer and Carrie Richards, both deceased.

The Eldred's received many cards and gifts.

Refreshments were served. The anniversary cakes were made by two of their granddaughters, Miss Audrey Palmer, Morris and Mrs. Gordon Brighaman, Laurens.
