Mrs. Ethel M. Carleton, 80, of 11 Hill Pl., died yesterday in Fox Hospital.
The funeral will be at 2 p. m. Friday in Bookhout Funeral Home, 357 Main St. The Rev. Roswell W. Lyon, pastor of First Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be later in Hillington Cemetery, Morris.
Mrs. Carleton was born Sept. 6, 1879, in New Lisbon, daughter of Pliney S. and Fannie (Cole) Thurston. She was married to Andrew Z. Carleton, who died in Nov. 1950.
She has been a resident of Oneonta about six years and previously had lived in New Lisbon and Morris.
Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Howard Wood of Hurleyville, and Mrs. Clarence Fletcher of 9 Hill Pl.; two sisters, Mrs. Grace Gregory, 5 Grand St., and Mrs Nela C. Walter, Garrattsville; nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mrs. F. Grace Gregory, 80, of 5 Grand St., died February 17 in Fox Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Lewis Funeral Home, with the Rev. Clayton W. Hoag, pastor of the First Methodist Church, officating. Burial will be later in Hillington Cemetery, Morris.
Mrs. Gregory was born June 27, 1881 in New Lisbon, daughter of Pliny and Fanny (Cole) Thurston. She was married to Melvin C. Gregory in New Lisbon in 1903.
She had been a resident of Oneonta for 25 years, coming here from Norwich, and was a member of First Methodist Church.
She is survived by one son, Dr. Clifford C. Gregory, 153 East St.; two grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Nella Walter, Garrattsville, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. today. The family will be present from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today.
